The Cholesterol Lie, Big Pharma’s Need to Keep it Going and What to Do About It

by Rocco Castellano

For over 20 years, I have alerted my customers and readers like you to the pharmaceutical industry’s cholesterol lie. For over 20 years, I have warned my clients and readers like you about the pharmaceutical industry’s constant cholesterol lie. But the persistent deception propagated by FDA, AHA, and USDA’s so-called “experts” continue to blind Americans to the truth. A new study has now confirmed — once more — that there is no connection between “bad” cholesterol and death from heart disease in people over 60, hopefully putting an end to the cholesterol lie.

“Bad” Cholesterol, Big Cholesterol Lie

According to the study, 92% of those with high cholesterol lived longer. Indeed, there is no distinction between “good” and “bad” cholesterol. To stay healthy, you require both. Without cholesterol, you couldn’t make cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone. It is a fundamental component of all of your hormones. The imbalance of pro-inflammatory omega-6 to anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids in our modern diet is a significant factor in developing heart disease.

The same incorrect notion promoted for 70 years by the American Heart Association (AHA) that animal fats raise cholesterol and cause heart disease underlies both the statins deception and this imbalance. This was the most significant dietary catastrophe of the 20th and 21st centuries. Therefore, it is no surprise that heart disease continues to be the most common disease diagnosed and the leading cause of death in America due to this cholesterol lie.

Humans have consumed foods with an approximate 2:1 or even 1:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids for most of our existence on Earth. But in the present world, the animal fats of our parents’ and grandparents’ generations have been replaced by inexpensive grains and vegetable oils like canola, owing to the AHA’s erroneous counsel. And as a result, our omega-6 to omega-3 ratio is now up to 20:1. The typical American today consumes ten times too much omega-6 fatty acid.

Indeed, LDL cholesterol readings have decreased as a result. But current research shows that the risk of heart attacks and stroke increases as LDL is reduced. Despite total cholesterol dropping by 13.8%, the recent Minnesota Coronary Experiment indicated that switching from saturated fat to vegetable oil increased mortality and cardiovascular events. The researchers also found that the risk of death increased by 22% for every 30 mg/dL fall in blood cholesterol.

The Best Way to Reduce Your Risk of Heart Attack

cholesterol lieI often recommend that my clients wean themselves off of statins. To safeguard their hearts and lessen their risk of developing heart disease, I advise using the following instead:

  1. Stop using margarine, canola, corn, and soy oil to rebalance your omega-6:omega-3 ratio.
  2. Cook with full-fat organic butter from grass-fed cows, coconut or avocado oil, or premium extra virgin olive oil instead. Avoid processed and prepackaged foods as much as possible because they nearly always contain one of the omega-6 vegetable oils.
  3. Choose the right omega-3, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which research has shown to be a powerful protector against heart disease.  DHA replaces the requirement for statins. Also, it’s among the most effective techniques to cure impaired circulation and control blood pressure. With a mix of squid and krill oil, you can obtain 60 mg of the EPA type of omega-3 and between 600 mg and 1,000 mg of DHA. For it to be effectively absorbed, make sure you take it with meals.
  4. Include vitamin K2 without fail. Another potent anti-inflammatory vitamin that protects the heart is this one. According to recent studies, vitamin K2 reduces inflammation by preventing white blood cells from producing pro-inflammatory signals.  Regrettably, the majority of people nowadays lack K2. Some calculations place the percentage as high as 98%!

Menaquinones, which are different types of vitamin K2, come in various forms. One of the more bioactive forms is menaquinone-7, so watch for that. As K2 is fat-soluble, taking it with food will increase absorption. I have my clients take 90mcg  daily.

If your doctor wants to put you on a statin like Lipitor or Crestor just show him this article and see what he says. An informed public is the best way to fight the bullshit.
