Peace of mind and perspective are the hardest attributes to possess. There are many people telling you that you can make a lot of money. You know what? In the fitness business, you can make a lot of money. I believe there’s too many trainers out there just chasing money creating anxiety, confusion and a loss of perspective. That I believe is wrong. When you chase money and you’re constantly thinking how much money you have to make, you’re missing the picture. Actually, I don’t think you are even looking through the camera lens.
Finding the Secret
I have watched some people chase money – they do make money, but the reality is the people that are the most successful have found a secret. That secret has nothing to do with money. It has everything to do with peace of mind. Now I want to say it again. It has everything to do with peace of mind, and that inner peace carries over into all aspects of your life.
When you look for peace of mind and figure out what it takes to have calm and perspective, everything else falls into place. Money comes almost effortlessly. I’m not saying you have to sneak off to some island or Tibet and hang out with monks to find your inner self. If you’re constantly chasing money and you say you’ve got to make a million dollars – guess what? I’ve already done it, and there was no happiness there. Once I realized that all I wanted was peace of mind, it was much easier to get to my goals.
What gives you your Peace of Mind?
Do you have peace? Is it what you have bringing you joy? Is all the money in the world going to make you truly happy? Most of the time, a lot of money only brings on more problems… and less happiness. I’m not saying that making six figures or seven figures is a bad thing. It isn’t but what is that relationship you want to create with your fan base, your audience, and also what is it that that money will do? What is the money going to bring you? Is your peace about providing for your family or making sure your family has a future if you aren’t there anymore?
Keeping Up with the Jones’
I encounter so many fitness professionals and business people in general living in a state like New York, and they simply can’t make ends meet. Or they live in California where they’re living in a house that’s way beyond their means, but they have to do it to keep up with the Jones’ and you know what? Keeping up with the Jones’ is not what it’s cracked up to be. Now, I’ve lived in several places, and to tell you the truth, when I was in New Jersey, I hated it. I absolutely hated it because I never had peace of mind. I was always looking over my shoulder, thinking that someone was going to shoot me in the back of the head.
Where is your piece of mind
That my friends is not peace of mind. The reality is I didn’t learn that I wanted peace of mind until later in life, and that’s why all the young people out there, even people that are my age – I want you to realize. It’s about peace of mind. Success is about peace of mind. Where is your piece of mind and what will bring you peace of mind? What will bring you true happiness? I don’t want to sound like some spiritual adviser, but that is what has happened to me. Many of the most successful people have finally found their inner peace. What truly brings them happiness in their whole life?
